A little information about Iowa
When people think of Iowa they think of corn. While agriculture, corn, soy, and farming are important to the state’s economy, these components are only a small slice of the economic pie of Iowa. Today manufacturing is the biggest industry in the state. 3M, Electrolux/Frigidaire, Quaker Oats, and General Mills all manufacture in the state. Each year Iowa is near the top of the “best places to open a business” lists. Low costs of living, low tax rates, and low costs in utilities all contribute to this fact. The capital city of Des Moines is the largest city in the state, and is known as being an insurance company capital of America. Iowa was created after Thomas Jefferson made a deal with the French in 1803. Iowa has a deep history, and it continues to write new chapters every day.
