A little information about Louisiana
Louisiana has one of the most diverse and unique cultures in the United States. The state is diverse in that many of the areas of the state are multilingual and multicultural. In the 18th century, Louisiana was a melting pot of Native Americans, French, Spanish, and African cultures. On any given day you can hear English, French, Spanish, and Creole being spoken by the locals. Instead of counties for political communities or neighborhoods, Louisiana has parishes. It is said that Louisiana produces up to 90% of the world’s crawfish, but the state also produces cotton, soy, dairy products, poultry, rice, and sugar cane. Paper products, petroleum, coal, and food production are also produced in the state. With major cities, such as Baton Rouge and New Orleans, and the Mississippi River, Louisiana is known as a major business hub. In fact, The Port of South Louisiana is the largest port, by volume, in the Western Hemisphere. With a diverse culture, big business, and unique landscape, it is no wonder why tourists flock to the state every single day.
