La Habra, California - Facts & Figures
La Habra, California spent much of its history as the location of Mexican cattle rancheros, one of whom named his ranch Rancho Cañada de La Habra. The area was also called the “Pass Through the Hills” because it was one of the only natural passes to continue further into the northwest. The original Hass Avocado tree is planted in La Habra, producing the best of the best avocados. The city also gives its name to The La Habra Stakes, a well-known thoroughbred race.
