Lexington is known as the "Thoroughbred City" and "Horse Capital of the World." Although the Kentucky Derby is held in Louisville, the Thoroughbred horses are bred, foaled, trained, bought, sold, raced and retired in Lexington. Derby Eve parties are held in Lexington as well. The Kentucky Horse Park is a working farm complex that offers a museum with films, interactive exhibits, tours and a daily parade of breeds. Lexington was the site of the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
