Nyack, New York - Facts & Figures
Nyack is a small village in Rockland County, New York. It is a suburb of New York City, about 19 miles from the Manhattan boundary and on the Hudson River. At least half of this tiny 1.6 square mile town is made of the Hudson River water. It was originally settled by Native Americans, who fished and clammed the beaches. Nyack has been known for shipbuilding and has been a commercial center of Rockland County. More recently, the town decided to undergo an urban revitalization project to expand the economy and to add commerce to its city center. The city is holding firm in the changing economy, and future projections anticipate an increase in both employment and business growth.
