Sapulpa, Oklahoma was first settled by Chief Sapulpa and called "Sapulpa Station." It was located at the junction of two railroads, connecting with other parts of the country. The chief was also connecting with the new people in the area. These two things began the town's reputation of "connection." Back then, Sapulpa was known as "The Crystal City of the Southwest." Today, with interstates and highways connecting in town, it is known as the "most connected city." Much of its economy is in the glass industry, with producers such as Bartlett-Collins Glass Company, Schram Glass Company, and Sunflower Glass Company.
