Denton, Texas is known as a college town with over 45,000 students enrolled at the University of North Texas and Texas Women's University. These two educational facilities were established between 1890 and 1901 and were the cause of a large amount of the growth in Denton at the time. Today, Denton is the 7th fastest growing city in the nation, with a population of over 110,000. Denton is also home to the North Texas State Fair and Rodeo and the Denton Arts and Jazz Festival, both of which draw a couple hundred thousand tourists to the city annually.
