Encino, California is home to Los Encinos State Historic Park, which surrounds the original nine-room de la Ossa Adobe, the Garnier Building, a blacksmith shop, a pond, and a natural spring. Encino is an affluent suburb of Los Angeles and part of the San Fernando Valley. It was given the name Encino in 1845 based on the original name, Rancho Los Encinos, which means the Ranch of the Evergreens. The city is where the first aquifer that fed the city of Los Angeles was built.
