Palmdale, California is located in Los Angeles County, but is separated from the actual city by the San Gabriel Mountain Range. Since the 1980s, Palmdale has been consistently ranked as one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation. It's also one of the only large cities in the country that doesn't have a major highway running in and out of it. Palmdale is also home to the Blackbird Airpark Museum, and therefore sometimes called the "aerospace capital of the world."
